Essay Topics and Its Elements
Essay Topics and Its ElementsNo matter what topic you choose to write about, you'll need a few helpful hints on how to structure an essay. You can usually find this information in any high school writing guide. However, if you do not take the time to learn about the basic elements of essay topics, you'll probably write a piece that's incomplete, and that's a shame, because the more you know, the better you'll be able to adapt to the various styles of essay. The first and most important part of the essay is the topic. Most people don't like to write about themselves, and they definitely don't like to write about their personal life experiences. Because this is so boring, it's often easier to write about a wider topic, such as a genre of art. For example, if you're interested in poetry, you might write about the many famous poets from Shakespeare to Joyce, or you might use the recent works of American poets to illustrate your topic. However, keep in mind that this will make your essay m ore difficult, and in addition, it'll likely be harder to pass your essay due to that 'personal' factor. The next element of essay topics is the theme of the essay. Again, this can be anything from an event, such as a prom, or the Spanish Civil War. If you are interested in the subject matter of a popular author, you may want to choose the name of a fictional character, like Victor Hugo or John Milton. For instance, you could also choose a topic that pertains to an event such as the death of a famous poet, or the infamous attack by Adolf Hitler. You'll have a much better chance of passing your paper if you've chosen the right topic. The third element of the essay topic is the introduction. Writing an essay is about as easy as pie, but you should still try to show your knowledge and understanding of the topic. This is where you show off your knowledge of the topic, but you should also mention some facts that might make your essay interesting, such as how the topic relates to the author 's life, or the author's other works. Try to be brief, but informative. Just a few sentences at the beginning can do wonders for an essay. The fourth element of essay topics is the conclusion. This should summarize what you've just discussed in the introduction, and then wrap up the essay with a positive statement of how you found your topic interesting, or how your essay's significance or usefulness is proven. Make sure to wrap it up in a very concise way, and leave out as much information as possible. A conclusion can be an extremely helpful guidepost when the essay has been re-read, and you can also thank the person who helped you by including the details of that person's contribution in your essay. Now that you know the basics of essay topics, there are other tips to keep in mind. First, pay attention to the source material. While you can read a list of essays by those particular authors, you'll only really understand the material if you pay attention to the context of the essay, and the overall writing style. Don't let the source material overwhelm you, because you won't always see the connection when you're reading it.Also, it's a good idea to write in a particular style. One tip that may sound ridiculous is that you should write in a certain style based on your subjects. If you're writing about Shakespeare, you might write in the better-known, classic style, and if you're writing about nature, you may choose a different style for each piece. By learning a few more elements of essay topics, you'll be able to better adapt to the style of essay you'll write for the class.
